Adobe LMS vs. iSpring Learn. Which is Better for Your Business?

Are you caught in the showdown between iSpring Learn and Adobe Learning Manager?

In comparison, Adobe Learning Manager has more bells and whistles. It would be better suited for bigger organizations that need to manage different portals for employees, partners, or customers. On the other hand, iSpring Learn is for teams who want a budget-friendly solution with the key functionality.

I tested both platforms and even snooped around user reviews to get the inside view. Now, I am here to spill the tea and help you figure out which solution will be your perfect match.

By the time we are done, you will have a clear picture of which platform aligns with your business needs, and you will be ready to make a confident decision.

Adobe Learning Manager as it is

Adobe Learning Manager is a learning management system designed for businesses that need to train employees, customers, or partners. You can create courses, track progress, and even personalize learning paths. It supports various content formats like SCORM, xAPI, videos, and interactive modules. There are built-in gamification features, reports, and integrations with other Adobe tools and third-party apps.

The LMS has its focus on customer education, sales and partner training, compliance training and store training.

Why Adobe Learning Manager may be a good fit?

  • Offers AI tools that recommend courses based on learner behavior and skills
  • You can create separate learning portals for employees, customers, and partners
  • Works well with Adobe tools like Creative Cloud, Captivate, and Experience Manager

Why think twice before making a choice?

  • No opportunity to sell other types of digital products
  • No built-in landing page builder
  • Does not integrate with the whole Adobe suite.

Course-building functionality

The way you can build courses with Adobe LMS is quite flexible. One great thing is that the platform has tutorial videos in the dashboard as helpful guides. Plus, there is no learning curve like with most LMS.

You create the content and the modules separately. So, before you build the modules, the content should already be uploaded.

The platforms support a variety of formats, including

  • Interactive content, like SCORM and AICC
  • Multimedia like PDFs, documents, videos, audio content, and more

When it comes to adding content to the course, Adobe LMS offers several options:

  • Main modules. Here, you add the main video course. Between, when you add a module, you can set it as a self-paced course, live lesson, or an in-person meeting. Yet, one thing about Adobe Learning is that you cannot divide the modules into lessons. Here, the terms lessons and modules are practically the same thing, which can sound confusing.
  • Prework. If there is a specific material you want a student to go through before getting to the course, you can add it here.
  • Testout. This tests their knowledge before they watch the course.
Adobe courses

What is great about Adobe Learning is that you can set up learning paths and prerequisites. No matter who the author is, the platform offers to set if the manager should approve some activities by the learners.

Key marketing opportunities

When it comes to marketing the corporate courses, there are not really many opportunities.

However, the platform does help with automation. For example, when you build a course, you can configure the email settings with templates. That is, who and in which case should receive the automatic email.

Adobe marketing features

The platform has read-made courses in its library. There are about 86000 courses for different roles. So, you can use this to your advantage and set customized paths for each learner.

But if you need real eCommerce tools, you would need to integrate with Adobe Commerce (Magneto).

Payment methods and integrations

To receive payments, you need to set up an external gateway manually. Or integrate with Adobe Commerce, which includes

  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • PayPal
  • Credit card options

But these options also depend on your country, as credit card payments are not available for everyone.

As for other integrations, Adobe Learning Manager offers API integrations and connectors. They include Salesforce, Adobe Marketo Engage, data visualization tools, etc.

iSpring Learn overview

iSpring Learn is a cloud learning management system that helps you deliver and manage online courses. You can upload your course content, track learner progress, and run reports to see how everyone is doing. It supports a wide range of media, like PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, and videos. The platform also offers a branded app so learners can access courses on the go.

As for the use cases, the platform focuses on compliance training, on-the-job training, sales, and partner training.

Does iSpring meet your business needs?

  • Has opportunities for creating your own knowledge base
  • Supports custom learning tracks for learners
  • Is integrated with the iSpring suite, so you have the content authoring toolkit as well

What you may pay attention to:

  • No opportunity to create an affiliate program
  • No built-in landing page builder
  • Branding and customization are only limited to color scheme choice and adding a logo

Course-building functionality

The course-builder in iSpring Learn is very user-friendly, so it is easy to find your way around. It supports different media as part of your content, including video, audio, PDFs and documents, quizzes, etc.

When it comes to organizing your course content, you create sections, and each section includes modules. As part of your course, you can add

  • A course page. Yet, this only includes text, and you cannot add other materials.
  • Quiz. The quiz functionality is truly limited, as you only have multiple choice (with one right answer and several right answers)
  • An assignment like homework. If you have additional files, you can add them here.
  • Training or uploading from your own files.
ispring courses

What is great is that the builder includes the settings of the course and is not a separate section. There is not much flexibility to manage settings as with other solutions, but it is decent.

For example, you can manage automatic enrollments, completion procedures, and reviews.

Key marketing opportunities

For marketing your courses, iSpring Learn offers the basics.

For example, it has a course catalog that lets you show your courses, making it easy for potential learners to browse and discover what you offer. It also lets you create discount coupons to drive enrollments.

The platform issues certificates and badges that learners can share on social media and promote your courses. And to keep the learning going, you can send automatic notifications.

Payment methods and integrations

iSpring Learn offers two eCommerce integrations for you to sell courses. They include

  • Tilda - to build a landing page and sell your courses there
  • Shopify - to build a store and sell there
ispring payment

It has multiple integrations with video conferencing, CRM, calendar, and other tools. Some popular iSpring integrations include Salesforce, BambooHR, Zoom, and Calendar Sync. The platform can also integrate with other tools with API keys.

User’s feedback on Adobe LMS and iSpring Learn LMS

To give you a 360-degree view of both solutions, I decided to check some reputable review platforms like G2 and Capterra. Here, the reviewers have been using these solutions for months. So, if I were to collect their general feedback and experience, it would look like this.

As for now, Adobe Learning Manager has an average of 4.3-star reviews on Capterra. Overall, the users think that the platform is easily understandable for both admins and employees. They like that it also has detailed and customized reports, allowing them to evaluate user performance and the impact of training. Reviewers mention it is also easy to customize the learning experience for each of their customers.

But when it comes to cons, lots of people mention that the pricing structure is high, especially those who are part of smaller organizations. Another con is that the platform’s functionality is general and may not fit specific workflows organizations usually have.

Review

As for iSpring Learn, reviewers describe it as a flexible solution that is worth the money. They especially like that the platform is simple and course management is easy. Users mention that being able to control the skill level of learners helps them a lot.

With that being said, not everyone is happy with the analytics and reporting functionality the platform offers. Especially if the course contains different types of learning materials, users report that tracking becomes harder.

Some of the reasons the reviewers chose iSpring over other solutions include the following:

  • User-friendly interface
  • Reasonable price for its functionality
  • No overly complicated and advanced tools

Is iSpring LMS or Adobe Learning better for your business?

Now that you are more familiar with the opportunities and experiences of the two solutions, you may have already decided which appeals to you more. But if not, we can summarize what we already discussed above in the following way:

  • Adobe Learning Manager is like that all-in-one, high-end system you use when you have a huge team or need super-detailed tracking. It is perfect if you are in a big company and require advanced features like AI recommendations, deep analytics, and the ability to manage different portals for employees, partners, or customers. It comes with a higher price tag, so if you have a big budget and very complex training needs, this is your go-to.
  • iSpring Learn, on the other hand, is your reliable, easy-to-use option. It is better for small to mid-sized businesses or educators who just need an easy way to create and manage courses without all the extra bells and whistles. It works especially well if you already use iSpring Suite for creating interactive content and want something that is budget-friendly and mobile-ready.

But what if you want the best of both worlds? A solution that is budget-friendly and easy to use yet has all the features your organization needs to run training and scale? In that case, I recommend checking out Uteach. Let’s compare both solutions and see if Uteach covers all your business needs.
