How to manage a manager role
This article explains what a Manager can see and do once assigned, including their dashboard view, permissions, and limitations.
What a manager sees
When a Manager logs in, their left-hand menu is simplified. It typically includes:
- Users
- Courses
- Teaching Materials
They do not see dashboards, payments, platform settings, or learning materials tab.
Manager permissions
Managers can:
✅ View only the group(s) assigned to them
✅ Access group-related:
- Students
- Course progress
- Quiz/test results
- Attendance (if used)
- Certificates issued
✅ Filter and export data (CSV/XLS)
✅ View summary statistics and report filters by:
- Student
- Course
- Completion status
- Date range
Manager restrictions
Managers cannot:
❌ View or manage other groups
❌ Access global reports or admin dashboard
❌ Edit course content, student records, or settings
❌ Create/edit users or assign them to groups
❌ View payment-related data (future-proofed for B2B/B2C split)
Manager dashboard
Each Manager will have a group-specific dashboard showing:
- Overview of assigned group(s)
- Filterable student lists
- Course-by-course progress tracking
- CRM-like detail for group members only (when clicking the “group members” icon)
- Export options for filtered data
If you need to revoke or update a manager’s group access, go to Users → Managers and edit their profile.
