How to create video courses

Are you an expert in the field looking for a new way to share your knowledge? Creating a video course may be the perfect solution, providing a dynamic and interactive way to educate and engage your audience.

Let’s break down step by step how you can create a high-demand video course.


  1. Head to the Dashboard 
  2. Go to the Courses section
  3. Click on the Create New Course button

Main Information

Now it’s time to fill in the general information about your course.

  • Add your desired title in the corresponding field. The URL will be generated in accordance with the title you entered.

Important Note: Once you save the changes, you CANNOT edit the slug. So, make sure to have the final slug version before you save the changes. You are allowed to use Latin letters and the “-” symbol (hyphen) in between words in the slug. 



  • Add an image to make the course appear visually appealing. Just click on the corresponding field to browse your image. The supported image formats include JPG, SVG, JPEG & PNG. The image size should be not greater than 846 x 564 px. 
  • The next step would be adding a course description. The description appears on your website along with the title. So, keep in mind that the description should be persuasive and tell of the course. You can use text editor tools to make your description even more appealing.
  • Course compliance button: When you turn this toggle on, the learners will be required to do certain tasks to proceed with the course. For example, view at least a particular part of the video, read the material, or download a file. 
  • Disable Fast-Forwarding button: If you want the students to watch the video fully, turn on this toggle. This way, they will not be able to skip ahead in the video. 
  • Show Course Duration toggle will make the course duration visible to the students.

Choosing authors


Now it’s time to add the author or authors of the course. Click on the corresponding field to choose from your authors’ list. Yes, you can add several authors.

If there are no authors on the list, you haven't created an author profile yet. To create a profile, please follow these steps:


  • Click on Create Author profile.
  • Fill in the required information: Your full name, phone number, password, and profession.
  • Choose an image and fill in the description box.
  • Click on the Update button.

Now you can add an author for the course.

Choose the drip content type if you want to release the pieces of content over time rather than all at once. 

Click on the Next button to proceed.

Importing Videos & files 

This is the section where you import videos, files & quizzes and arrange each episode.

Click on Create New section. This is going to be the first episode of the course.

Add the title of the section. Click on the Save button to proceed. 

Now you will see your title in the list. Create a new episode by clicking on the title. The following types of episodes will be displayed: Video, Audio, File, Text, Quiz & Form.

  • For this type of episode, add the video title.

  •  Choose any video type from the list: File upload, Video Library(1),Youtube, Vimeo, Twitch, Rutube, Myvideo, or Iframe. You can also add a custom URL. Insert the link to the video in the box below. 

In case of file upload, you can activate the “Show Original Video” toggle.That means our system won't optimize the videos and will display the original version. Please optimize the videos before the upload.  


Additionally, you can upload thumbnail images and subtitles for the video file. Finally, you can upload attachments to include additional files or documents related to your video episode.



  • Next up is writing a description. 
  • You also have the opportunity to set it as a free episode by activating the “Make this a free episode” toggle. (2)
  • If you don’t want the episode to be published yet, click on the “Save as a draft” button.
  • Click on the Save button to proceed.


(1) Now, you have a Video Library option for all your uploaded videos. You can reuse your videos effortlessly across multiple courses. Simply click on Library and choose the video you want,then click Submit.

(2) Please note if you want to make the episode free but require registration, you should activate the toggle.

Follow the steps to activate the toggle.


  1. Log in to your dashboard
  2. Head to Settings > General settings> Course Settings
  3. Enable Registration required for free episodes toggle.


Important Note: There is a 3 GB limit on video files. As you upload the video, depending on the file size, it will take some time for the video to load and play smoothly. So, please do not worry if the video doesn’t load and run smoothly as it should at once.

Adding an audio episode is the same as for the video. 

  • Add the title to the audio.
  • Fill in drip content information.
  • Choose your audio type from the list, including Iframe.
  • Upload the audio file in .MP3 format.
  • Write down a description.
  • Click on the Save button.

  • Add a file title
  • Upload the file from your computer or choose the Iframe option
  • If you want to make the course episode free for visitors or have it in a draft version, activate the corresponding toggles.

The following file formats are available: .JPG, .PNG, .MP4, .PDF, .CSV, .XLSX, .PPT, .PPTX, .XLS, .MP3, .DOC, .TXT, .DOCX, .RTF , . XML, .ZIP,PKT and .JSON.

To create a text episode, you need to write the title, add the text and save it.

The text editor will allow you to add a picture or video, a link, etc.

Creating a quiz episode 

  • Fill in the title section.
  • Choose the quiz type from the list. It can be either one of your created quizzes or an Iframe one. 

Important Note: In the case of the iframe quiz, the system cannot check it automatically and give a certificate. To automate the quiz-checking process, you will need to create one with Uteach. 

  • Select the quiz. This list includes all the quizzes you have created. To be able to choose a quiz, you should make one beforehand.
  • Quiz is required to pass. If you activate this button, the students will have to pass the quiz to proceed to the rest of the course.
  • Ignore the quiz passing score. If this button is inactive, the system will not count the passing score you set when creating the quiz.

  • Fill in the title section.
  • Select the form from the list or create  a new one

Turn on the toggle editable to allow users to modify submitted forms in any attached episode within the course. Upon opening the form, users will see pre-filled information, including data from the last submission.


If you still need to make changes to the episode activate Save as a draft toggle. 

The process for adding a File, Text, or Form episode goes the same way.


The following formats are available for file episodes: .JPG, .PNG, .MP4, .PDF, .CSV, .XLSX,  .PPT, .PPTX, .XLS, .MP3, .DOC, .TXT, .DOCX, .RTF, .XML, .ZIP, PKTand .JSON.

Navigate to the next section, where you can add a quiz and a certificate to your course.

If you already have a quiz, it will be displayed in the Choose quiz list. In case you have not created a quiz yet, tap on Create quiz


When the quiz is ready, click on the refresh button, and it will also appear in the list.

Select the quiz from the list and click on the Next button. (If you don’t want to have a quiz for that course, click on Skip.)

Afterward, you can fill in the information, such as the name of the quiz, control how many times a student can pass a quiz, and estimate the passing score.


Finally, it is time to price the course. When navigating to the Price section, you will see two options.

  • Free-this option is for making the course free for the website visitors.
  • One-time payment - this option allows you to set a price for the course. 

Insert the price in the corresponding field. If you want to make a discount, insert the reduced price in the Old price box.


From here, you can also control how long the course will be available for enrolled students.


We are almost done! Now it’s time to manage some general settings, after which the course will be published.

The first section is for controlling accessibility. Here you can see several options.

  • Draft - the course will be available on your dashboard; however, it will not be available for students to purchase.
  • Published- students can see and enroll in the course.
  • Unlisted- only those who have the link can access the course. Otherwise, it will not be visible in the courses section.
  • Private- the course will be available only to those you give access to via email. Unlike the unlisted option, the course will not be available for a third party who is sent the link but is not provided access by you. 
  • Public for visitors- All the visitors will gain access to the course without registering.

If the course is free, you will see the Public for Visitors toggle here. If the toggle is inactive, the students will have to register on your website before enrolling.  However, if you want the visitors to access the course without registering, turn on the toggle. In this case, all website visitors can access the course. 



Post-purchase redirect link


Now, you can insert your desired page link where your customers or students will be redirected after purchase.


SEO Settings


Next up is filling out SEO details.

  • Write the SEO title for the course. This will show not only on your website but also search engine page results.
  • Fill in the SEO description box. This will also display on search engine page results below the title.
  • Insert course keywords. By including such keywords in their queries, the searchers can find your course in the search page results.

Activate the Send notification button if you want the students to be notified about the course updates. Ensure you enabled the corresponding button from the email settings tab. 

From the section, you can also delete the course. 

Click on the Save button

Congratulations! You did it! Your course is ready to be purchased. 



Does Uteach have a bulk importer feature?
